Doesn't this look like a healthy pumpkin plant? I thought so too until I looked closer and saw it already had flowers on it.
This can't be right, it hasn't even started to spread into a vine yet! I have a feeling that those early blooms don't bode well for future harvest potential. Any pumpkin experts care to enlighten me?

Hmm dunno much about Pumpkins..but I like your blog though. Love the cool background template color too..
I'd pinch that flower to give the plant more time to root and vine out. It could be a response to being root-bound if it's a new planting. Then pinch out all but one or two of the flowers once it gets going. Padawan Learner had a HUGE pumpkin a few years ago by keeping it to only flower.
