Making Paper Snowflakes!

This Thanksgiving the weather in our area was quite cool, 40's at night. So I thought it would be fun to make some paper snowflakes!
We used construction paper, and made them in different colors.
I'm going to hang them from embroidery floss and then from the ceiling fan light fixtures.
When the fan is on low it will look like they are falling (ok, maybe not but my son thought they were cool anyway).

I found some easy instructions with great pictures at HighHopes.com.
I also found this really fun site where you can create your own virtual snowflakes and then download them!

What a great idea! We need something fun to fill up this weekend. Snowflakes, it is! Thanks for the idea. :)

What fun! Another thing I've done (works great for little ones) is fold up coffee filters and have them snip the folded edges. You can also dip them in water with a little blue food color added, or add some iridescent glitter! Have fun!
