Shiver Me Timbers, A Giveaway!

I was recently reminded that Friday is International Talk Like A Pirate Day (thanks Megzy)!
According to Wikipedia: "September 19 is the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with "Hello," but with "Ahoy, me hearty!" The holiday, and its observance, springs from a romanticized view of the Golden Age of Piracy."

As a child in the Bahamas, I grew up with pirate stories. I remember locals telling naughty children that if they didn't behave they would sell them for pirates booty. You can read about the history of Bahamian pirates here. Disney filmed scenes for Pirates two and three in the Bahamas.

Just for fun, I've decided to give away a set of my
(shipping included, open to US residents only)
Just a leave a comment here, between now and Saturday Sept. 20th at midnight and I will announce the winner on Sunday Sept 21. Just remember to leave your email or blog link so I can contact you.

So hoist your jolly roger, pour yourself a grog and enjoy a swashbucklin' day! Yo Ho Ho!

Hey, that's cool! My husband and I went to Freeport before our son was born, and at the Lucayan National Park there was still a ship used in filming one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. We couldn't get really close to it, but it was fun to see anyway.

Love the story board! My daughter and nephew would adore it! I wanted to live on the sea, among pirates like Pippi Longstockings when I was a kid. Doubt I had an accurate view of the pirate lifestyle..

Guess what, just to see who is reading I'm going to include a "Story Box" with the images! It's great for travel or quiet play. You can see what it looks like by checking out my Etsy shop, http://nodinsnest.com

I love Talk Like A Pirate Day! Sometimes we have a pirate party and since it is on Friday this year, I am thinking we must party again.

I think my little Ladybug would love the pirate felt board images (and the story box I saw on your etsy page)!

Great pirate pieces... YARRRR! :-) And with the addition of the story box, this is awesome! My daughter is home sick today and gives it a thumbs up, and thinks her younger brother will agree. Even my husband, my fellow pirate afficiando, thinks it's "cool!" *chuckle*

Well, shiver me timbers it's another pirate enthusiast! I gotta tell ya that we found the coolest place for pirates to visit on our catamaran vacation in the British Virgin Islands. That's where I learned that the pirate's favorite letter in the alphabet is "ARRRRR!" Just dropped by your lens and your Etsy store -- quite a nice selection. I'm a felt nut ya know.
