Nature Walk

It was a beautiful clear day this Memorial Day in our neighborhood, so we went on a nature walk! There are several great small lakes near our house that have many species of birds, plants and fish living in and around the water.
There is also an occasional alligator or two, however they did not show themselves on this trip. My son's favorite photo is the minnows underwater ( it's hard to see them is this picture). This week we will make a scrapbook of our findings and identify the different species we saw.

Gorgeous! I always enjoy spending time in nature. Well, unless it's 99 degrees with 100% humidity. Then I prefer to look out the window. Yeah, I live in Texas. ;)

Thanks for sharing! My kids love going for walks by the pond. We never know what we will see (not an alligator in kansas though).
